Whole Family Medicine is a small practice in Decatur.  Its sole doctor (and owner) is Marion Owen, MD who, prior to opening WFM, was the anchor physician at Northside Urgent Care & Family Medicine in Alpharetta.  As a family doctor, Dr. Owen provides a full range of primary care - from pediatrics to geriatrics.  She is also the only specialist in Functional Medicine in the Decatur area. 

Having a family doctor isn’t simply convenient, providing one location for your family’s pediatrician, gynecologist, internist, and so forth.  Family medicine also provides unique medical advantages, since a doctor familiar with the health issues of the whole family is better informed for providing healthcare for each member of the family.

WHAT IS FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE?

Functional Medicine is an intensively science-based healthcare approach that assesses and treats underlying causes of illness through individually tailored therapies to restore health and improve function.  Functional medicine emphasizes "patient care" as much as "disease care," on the grounds that it is just as important to know what patient has the disease as it is to know what disease the patient has.
